Pathways Counseling Center

The process for applying for counseling is easy. Simply fill out the application form and return it to the Crossroads office with a $25 application fee. It is our privilege to serve the people of God by ministering His Word.  The cost of the counseling is as follows:

A $25 application fee is assessed to all applicants.

Counseling is free of charge to all members and regular attenders of Crossroads Community Church.

A nominal fee of $25 per session is charged to all non-Crossroads counselees.  

We require counselees to purchase materials we use in counseling sessions.

Confidentiality 

Confidentiality is vital to the counseling process and the information you entrust to us will be carefully guarded. There are four situations, however, when it may be necessary to share certain information with others:

1. When a counselor is uncertain how to address a problem and needs to seek advice from
   another pastor or counselor, or one of the elders at Crossroads.
2. When there is concern that someone may be harmed unless others intervene.
3. When abuse or another crime may have occurred.
4. When a person persistently refuses to renounce a particular sin and it becomes necessary to
   seek the assistance of others in the church to encourage repentance and reconciliation or to
   begin the process of church discipline (Proverbs 15:22, 24:11; Matthew 18:15-20).
5. When observers sit in on counseling sessions to assist the counselor or for training
   purposes (including audio & video recordings–only with permission).
6. When the counselee’s pastor, staff and/or church leadership is needed to provide pastoral
   assistance.
7. By law, we are required to report child abuse to the authorities.

Please be assured that our counselors strongly prefer not to disclose personal information to others and they will make every effort to help you find ways to resolve a problem as privately as possible.

Terms of Counseling Sessions

The counseling team provides their time, energy and spiritual gifts as a service to God and as a labor of love (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8; 1 Timothy 1:5). Our first session with you will last approximately 1 and a half to 2 hours; thereafter, each subsequent meeting will last 60 to  90 minutes. The term of counseling should last no longer than twenty-four (24) weeks from the date of the first session without elder approval.

Fee Structure

Counselees are not expected nor required to contribute to this ministry; however, voluntary contributions are appreciated. Please make childcare arrangements for your children during your counseling sessions.

Counselees are asked to give a 24-hour notice prior to cancelling an appointment. A failure to keep scheduled appointments puts your counseling case at risk for deactivation and your time slot possibly given to the next counselee on the wait list.
